Georgetown sponsors a wide variety of lectures, conferences, and seminars on development topics. The Initiative on International Development will sponsor two annual Distinguished Lectures in International Development featuring one prominent academic, and one prominent practitioner. Additionally, the Initiative will sponsor conferences, seminars, and working groups examining development issues. The first such working group comprised of development practitioners, academics, and business people, will look at "Innovations in Development" and will be co-sponsored by the Brookings Institution.
