Ava Wong
Undergraduate Research Assistant – Earth Commons Project
Ava is a member of the Class of 2027 in the School of Foreign Service, where she is majoring in Science, Technology, and International Affairs with a concentration in Energy and Environment and minors in Economics and Spanish. She is fascinated by how the global energy transition is transforming dynamics of sovereignty, development, and power. Her interests center on the tensions between foreign investment and environmental justice in lithium extraction, as well as the broader geopolitical dimensions of critical mineral supply chains. On campus, Ava is a Sustainable Business Fellow, a senior consultant with Georgetown Global Consulting, a barista at the Midnight Mug, a macroeconomics teaching assistant, and a campus tour guide. In her free time, she enjoys going on long hikes, practicing yoga, perfecting her latte art, learning about marine ecology, and exploring DC.
