Lepgold Nomination Process
Eligibility Criteria
- The prize is awarded to the best book in international relations published in the previous calendar year.
- Books must contribute to the field of international relations, broadly defined, including topics such as diplomacy, global governance, security studies, and international political economy.
- Authors affiliated with Georgetown University are not eligible.
- Books must be published by an academic or trade press to qualify for consideration.
How to Nominate a Book
- Submit a Nomination Form: To nominate a book, complete the designated online form, providing essential details about the book and its author.
- Send Copies for Review: After submitting the nomination form, you will receive instructions on where to send physical copies of the nominated book.
The submission deadline is announced annually, and all nominations must be received by the specified date.
Selection and Award
The winning author is awarded a $1,000 prize and is invited to present their research at the Mortara Center during a special book prize ceremony. The event is scheduled in consultation with the winner and typically takes place in the fall semester.
