Swati Srivastava

Swati Srivastava is an Assistant Professor of Political Science at Purdue University. She holds a Ph.D. in Political Science from Northwestern University and an M.A. in International Relations from the University of Chicago. Prior to joining the faculty at Purdue, she was a doctoral fellow with the Andrew Mellon Foundation and the American Council of Learned Societies.
Professor Srivastava researches the dynamics of global private sovereigns, including contractors, lobbyists, and NGOs. She uses original archival data along with content analysis, comparative historical analysis, event history analysis, network analysis, and text-as-data approaches. Her latest project explores global corporate power across the 20th and 21st centuries. She also runs an undergraduate research group evaluating the political power and responsibility of Big Tech and algorithmic governance.
