Mohamed Meshal

Mohamed Meshal is a member of the class of 2027 in the SFS majoring in International Politics. In his internship with the Foreign Service Institute, Mohamed worked alongside the Near Eastern Affairs team, researching politics and conflicts throughout the Middle East and North Africa. For Mohamed, this experience sparked a greater interest in studying the development and culture of the Arab world. As a MURF, Mohamed works with Dr. Mustafa Aksakal–associate professor of Turkish Studies and World War One historian– on the cultural and political impacts of the First World War on the Middle East. Outside of being a MURF, Mohamed is a member of Georgetown’s Board Game Club and enjoys hiking, running, and spending time with friends and family
