BSFS '27
Ophelia Bentley is a member of the Class of 2027 in the School of Foreign Service, interested in the intersection of climate change, global security, and international institutions. Born in the UK, she grew up in New Hampshire and credits her cross-national upbringing with her passion for international relations. Her proseminar “Rules-Based Economy” with Professor Marc Busch solidified her interest in the role of international law and institutions in shaping government responses to climate change and international coordination on environmental issues. As a MURF, Ophelia assists Professor Kathleen McNamara in her research on how politics, culture, and politics shape markets in the European Union. Outside of being a MURF, Ophelia is an editorial assistant in the Conflict & Security section of the Georgetown Journal of International Affairs and an Outreach Associate and tutor with Hatch Tutoring. In her free time, she enjoys reading, listening to music, and exploring DC.
