Sarah Grace Shurden is a member of the Class of 2026 in the School of Foreign Service studying Regional and Comparative Studies, with a concentration in Asia, focusing on competition in the Indo-Pacific, and a Statistics minor. As a biracial Korean American, Sarah Grace’s interest in international affairs originally stemmed from the discipline’s ability to meld together multiple identities and regions into one area of study. As a MURF, Sarah Grace assists Professor Christine Kim, a historian of modern Korea and a scholar of Korean national identity. On campus, Sarah Grace is a Section Editor at the Georgetown Journal of International Affairs. In her free time, she enjoys reading Jane Austen novels and running from Georgetown’s front gates to the Washington Monument.
