Anay Shah

Anay Shah is a member of the Georgetown Class of 2029 in the School of Foreign Service, pursuing a major in International Economics. His research sits at the intersection of development economics and international affairs, focusing on how foreign aid and investment strategies can be better designed to foster sustainable, long-term economic growth in recipient countries. He works alongside Professor Raj Desai on projects examining the role of innovation and public-private sector dynamics in international development. On campus, he is a member of the Georgetown Jazz Ensemble and DCivitas Consulting, and serves as a Website Operations Fellow for Science, Politics, the newly launched journal of Georgetown’s Science, Technology, and International Affairs program. Beyond campus, he interns with the Organic Farmers Association’s policy team, supporting the interests of organic farmers in the federal legislative process. In his free time, he enjoys pickup basketball and exploring Washington, D.C.
