Ruth Albright

Ruth Albright is a member of the Class of 2029 in the School of Foreign Service pursuing a major in International Politics with a concentration in Foreign Policy and Policy Processes, as well as a double minor in French and Statistics. Growing up in Mississippi, she was instilled with an understanding of local communities, historical complexity, and political injustice, which now drives her passion for international relations and navigating global challenges through a grounded lens. As a MURF, she is currently working with Professor Pauliina Patana to investigate the role of the middle class in the erosion of democracy across wealthy democracies. She is broadly interested in exploring the marginalization of women in political participation and how that can contribute to democratic decline. Outside of MURF, Ruth is a board member of Sunrise Georgetown. In her free time, she enjoys reading, chess, and golf.
