Gloria Xiong
GPEP Fellow (2023–2024)
Gloria is an Assistant Professor in Government at Colby College and a Non-Resident Fellow at the Fairbank Center, Harvard University. Her research specializes in the intersection of international political economy and international security with a focus on economic coercion in great power competition. Her book project examines the drivers and consequences of China’s coercive economic statecraft. Some of her writing has appeared in the Journal of Contemporary China, The Washington Post’s Monkey Cage, and H-Diplo ISSF (Forthcoming).
For the 2023-2024 academic year, she was a Global Political Economy Project (GPEP) Pre-doctoral Fellow and a Hans J. Morgenthau Fellow at the Notre Dame International Security Center. She received her PhD in Government from Cornell University in 2024. She holds a BA with honor in Political Science from Mount Holyoke College.
