Samar Rawas was born and raised in Dallas, Texas. She pursued her academic journey at Southern Methodist University, earning degrees in International Studies, Education, and Arabic. Currently, Samar finds herself embarking on a new chapter as a first-year graduate student at Georgetown University, diligently pursuing her Masters of Science in Foreign Service.

Before beginning her graduate studies, Samar demonstrated her dedication to facilitating educational opportunities as an International Admission Coordinator in the Admissions department. Her role involved providing invaluable assistance to students throughout the I-20 and visa process, college applications, and their transitional phases. Samar's passion for supporting aspiring scholars and guiding them towards success was evident in her commitment to their individual needs.

In June 2023, Samar realized her lifelong dream of serving as an FSO (Foreign Service Officer) and relocated to Washington, DC as a USAID Diplomatic Payne Fellow. In this esteemed position, Samar contributed her expertise as a fellow on Capitol Hill, working alongside the congresswoman's legislative team. Her responsibilities encompassed various tasks, including thorough preparation for upcoming oversight and agricultural committee hearings. Samar's unwavering dedication and attention to detail greatly contributed to the smooth functioning of the team.

During her leisure time, Samar enjoys exploring new destinations, embracing different cultures through travel, and sharing her knowledge as a conversational Arabic teacher. Her passion for giving back to the community is evident in her active role as a board member of a non-profit organization.
