Zhenzhen Chen
Visiting Researcher
Zhenzhen Chen is a PhD research candidate at the Sun Yat-Sen University in China. She is also a fellow of IIE’s U.S.-China Scholars program in 2021-2022, funded by Harvard-Yanching, and four other donors.
She research interests lie in the intersection of geopolitics, law and finance, and international political economy, focusing on the political consequences of two important structural underpinning in global capital markets — technological change and the rise of China.
Prior to her doctoral studies, she built a professional career in one of the world’s largest international banks, covering strategic initiatives from RMB internationalization to Great Bay Area economic integration. At Georgetown, she hopes to further develop and promote academic scholarship, with the aim to nurture a deeper understanding of China’s economic and financial statecraft.
